Inspired by the Artisans

 

First of all from all of us at Kobe, a very Happy New Year! We start this year with the launch of our latest collection ARTISAN.

Our very first Look of the month for 2019 is inspired by this collection. An artisan is someone who is skilled at making things by hand and creates products that require a specific skill set unique to their craft. The ARTISAN Collection celebrates the rich history of textile weaving and pays ode to the intricate artisanal techniques that create beautiful end products.

In this modern eclectic look we have used the colourful VOYAGE, which has an ethnic inspired pattern reminiscent of handmade fabrics adorning intricate designs created with a craftsman’s fine skills.

Colour Palette:

The colours used in this look are bright tones mixed with warmer colours creating an open, comfortable feel in a cheerful feel. Neon tinted colours of Voyage colour no.4 are combined with deeper colour tones of blue, terra and aqua  on the daybed. This colour group is accented by the contrast of black and white in the room with warm colour tones on the accessories.

Styling Tips:

When working with brighter colour tones, seek for a balance with colours that complete the colour palette and give a grounding element.

When working with colourful patterned fabrics, use less decorative elements in the styling to avoid creating a clustered look. Let the curtain be your backdrop and style the room from there onwards in a cohesive manner.

Use of artisanal decorative materials is on trend. They add an authentic personal touch to your interior. Choose items that speak to you and your style.

Materials like jute, bamboo, wood, ceramics are great for adding to this look.

Add pops of colours such as Burned Orange, Petrol, Indigo Blue and Dark red to the neutral colour base in the floors and the walls.

Combining contemporary materials such as the plexi-glass side table with the more traditional raw materials such as untreated wood, leather or jute makes this look more striking.
